Worcestershire’s Eckington resident Ruth Haines is in the race to help research against Cancer!

Ruth Haines

Local mum Ruth Haines is running at Worcester race course with a family friend on July the 14th in a Cancer Research race for life, charity event.

She will be selflessly running 5k in memory of her mum Marion Elcock who passed away when my mum was just 30 years old, right before I was born 36 years ago, so neither my brother or I got to meet or know her, something we are angry at cancer for. However, through my mum’s constant memories, it keeps our dearly departed Marion’s spirit alive and my mum in her 60’s runs most days in training for the event.

Here is her running in preparation even when she recently went on holiday to the Gower! With the kind help of friends and family, my mum has raised just over £600 and it would now be amazing if, with the power of social media, we could smash this figure to over £1000. Our coffee business Couture Coffee Beans have had endless messages of suport and a kind donation from a customer already, but any further donations to the mentioned link would be so greatly appreciated and we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts, as my mum says it’s the donations that are keeping her spirits up to do this positive, selfless act.

Let’s help kick cancer every which way it hurts!
