Worcestershire land parcel sold for 106-home development

The Residential team at Harris Lamb have sold a Worcestershire land parcel to housing developer Taylor Wimpey West Midlands for the development of 106 family homes.

The site off Steatite Way in Stourport-on-Severn, is the latest brownfield site in the Midlands to be purchased for residential redevelopment.

The 8.10-acre site was formerly occupied by Midland Industrial Plastics. The site was cleared around five years ago and remained vacant whilst negotiations were on going with the Local Authority and adjoining occupier to bring forward the site for development.

Harris Lamb’s Residential Land team worked closely with the landowner, Willsgrove Properties, Wyre Forest District Council, Taylor Wimpey and Morganite Ceramics, the adjoining landowner, on a scheme that was agreeable to all parties, releasing the site for development.

Andy Lamb, Director, said: “We have been working with Willsgrove Properties on this site for many years and we are thrilled to see another disused brownfield site in the Midlands set to undergo significant regeneration.

“This land parcel has been redundant and derelict for many years, and it is fantastic to know that it will now make an important contribution to the local economy, while providing quality housing in an area where new homes have been lacking.”

Ben Jowett, Land Manager at Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, said: “We recognised this as an important site for the town, and we were keen to regenerate it to provide much-needed family housing as well as local employment and homes for first time buyers.
