TSB Sheldon Skydive
A team from TSB in Sheldon took part in a tandem skydive for Heartlands Hospital Charity’s Children’s appeal as part of their aim to raise as much money as they can for the children at the hospital.
The Children’s appeal is aiming to renovate the children’s areas throughout Heartlands Hospital, including the wards, outpatients areas and the garden, to make them more child-friendly.
The team who took part in the skydive raised an incredible £2,610.31 on their JustGiving page. Not only did the take part in the skydive, they also held dress-down days to help them reach this amazing total!
All of the money they have raised so far is going towards the children’s garden at the hospital. The new and improved garden will provide a fun space for children to relax and play in whilst they are in hospital. The garden will include a fun pirate ship which will give the children a chance to stretch their legs with their siblings and other patients as they would at school or at home.
The garden will be fully accessible so even those who have to stay in bed can go outside for some fresh air.
Being in hospital can be quite worrying and scary for children so the garden will give them chance to relax and feel a little safer and more at home, it will also have a quiet area where they can meet with their nurses in a non-clinical area.

“The money you have raised will help us make the children’s garden more fun, inviting and relaxing at the hospital and give more children the opportunity to play outside with their siblings and other patients.”
This isn’t the only fundraising the TSB team have been doing for the Children’s appeal, they have also done Christmas fundraising and lots of other activities throughout the year to raise money. Including all of their fundraising activities and challenges, the team have raised an incredible £21,954.19!
