Nealem Stephens the Owner of a Windsor based small business; Extra Help Maidenhead & Windsor has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. Nealem was crowned as one of Theo’s Small Business Sunday winners.
Owner, Nealem Stephens said, “Nothing can really prepare you for the reality of owning and running your own small business. Taking the decision to run a small business is lonely. It comes with stress, anxiety, and long hours. You need to be the Director, worker, admin, marketing, accountant, cleaner, customer care and everything in between.
Alongside being a great mother, sister, wife, carer, and friend. These past couple of years have been so challenging for everyone, let alone small businesses. I really didn’t think I was going to make it. What happened next surprised everyone! My business experienced phenomenal growth as more and more people needed my services through the lockdowns. I quickly adapted my service so that I could work through the lockdowns safely by following the governments COVID guidelines on working safely. I carefully recruited a strong and solid team of people who shared my vision, passion, and tenacious desire to succeed.
Prior to becoming a business owner, Nealem enjoyed a successful career, spanning over two decades, working within both corporate and entrepreneurial start-up environments. I’d only been in business three years, starting as a sole trader, trying desperately to spread the word. My previous skillset and the support and recognition from Theo has raised my profile in the small business arena. Nealem adds, “I don’t think it’s about a fancy logo or brand. People buy from people. A strong business strategy, credibility, and robust customer success strategy together with being prepared to make personal sacrifices has contributed to my success.
February 2022 is a month in which Nealem also celebrated her 150th positive customer review. She celebrates this achievement with her small, loyal team who she affectionately calls her angels.
