A law firm has celebrated the opening of a new office in Conwy by holding a launch party for businesses from across North Wales.

Around 200 guests joined staff from Lanyon Bowdler at the celebration event at The Mulberry in Conwy on June 6, with senior representatives from local government, Guto Bebb MP, business owners, farmers and landowners in attendance, while entertainment was provided by the Welsh male voice choir, Hogie’r Berfeddwlad, and Lofty the magician.

Edward Nutting, commercial property solicitor who heads Lanyon Bowdler’s North Wales office, said the evening was a great success.

“We were delighted that so many people from across the North Wales area – clients old and new – were able to join us,” he said.

“Lanyon Bowdler has had a presence in Conwy since March 2018, and we have been receiving a growing number of instructions from people who previously felt they had to travel to firms over the border to obtain the services we provide.

“Now we have a permanent base here, we are looking forward to assisting many more clients in the Mid and North Wales area.

“It was important for us to mark what is a significant milestone for us as a firm, and I hope everyone enjoyed spending some time with us.”

Lanyon Bowdler’s office at Riverside Business Park in Conwy opened in May and the firm now offers a full range of legal services to both companies and private individuals in the area.

Clients already include many leading local companies, such as some of the largest leisure and tourism destinations in the area, landed estates and many agricultural clients.

Other services to be provided from Conwy will include employment, corporate and dispute resolution for companies; and wills, trusts and probate, family, clinical negligence and personal injury for private clients.

Brian Evans, Lanyon Bowdler’s managing partner, added: “Our client base in North Wales has grown significantly over the last 12 months.

“Having recruited new members of staff locally, and moved another from our Oswestry office, we are well placed to serve the needs of our North Wales clients from an office which is local to them.

“The economy in North Wales is growing faster than the national average, and we are excited about the future.

“We see the formal opening of our Conwy office as an important commitment to supporting the region, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to help us mark the occasion.”
