The newly-elected President of Nottingham City Business Club says he’s hoping the organisation’s record membership figures will continue to increase over the next year.
Craig Pearson, who is Head of Sales and Marketing at the IT and Cyber Security Specialists, Your IT Department Ltd, was elected President at the club’s AGM this month. He succeeds Terry Ellis.
Following three years on the club’s governing Council, Craig says he is delighted to be the president of an organisation which is the oldest business club outside London.
“It’s a real honour to be elected President of the historic Nottingham City Business Club, whose members include many well-established and prestigious companies,” said Craig.
“Over the years I’ve been privileged to know a number of former club presidents and it’s fantastic to be able to follow in their footsteps.”
Craig has been a member of the business club for more than eight years and is hoping to see a further increase in membership numbers during his year in office.
He said: “The club is more than 100 years old and now has a record number of members, which is around 160. I’ll be working hard to increase our profile further and to let more business people know about the benefits of being part of such a supportive and proactive organisation.”
During his year as President, Craig will be welcoming a high-profile business personality to speak at the club’s prestigious Christmas Dinner:
“The event is always a highlight of the year and the name of our special guest is under-wraps at the moment. But it will be a high-profile national figure from the business community. It’s certainly someone that local business people will not want to miss hearing from.”
Craig is also looking forward to continuing to support the club’s charity of the year, Footprints, which transforms the lives of children living with mobility and communication difficulties. The club’s annual charity golf day will be held in September.
