Not content with being the 11th most visited free attraction in the country, Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new live room availability website tool. The development cements MAC’s commitment to excellent customer service, as one of the few conferencing and meeting venues offering this online, user-friendly booking system.
Alongside the online 360 panorama feature, which gives customers the added bonus of seeing our spaces for hire before booking, MAC’s new feature allows users to instantly see the availability of rooms when planning any kind of event. The tool is designed to make booking procedures significantly more convenient for external customers, as well as MAC staff.
Situated in Cannon Hill Park, just five minutes from Birmingham City Centre, MAC is a world-class venue with 29 diverse spaces available for hire, which include meeting rooms, artist and performance studios, versatile theatres, a major gallery space, and a large outdoor Amphitheatre arena. Whether customers are looking to book one of the modern, accessible conference spaces, or the intimate Hexagon Theatre, MAC is proud to accommodate the varying needs of customers, artists and companies.
Damien Vincent, Head of Customer Services at MAC, said: “Our new live availability feature has been developed with customers in mind. By making as much information available as possible on-line we hope to save our customers time in phone calls and lengthy email exchanges. Then we can focus on making their event exceptional. We are primarily an arts venue, so we really know how to deliver an excellent event with style.”
Having received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, MAC is ranked in the top 10 percent of businesses registered with the site and is recognised as an organisation that consistently delivers great service. The accreditation, which is gained from repeatedly being awarded at least four stars out of five from users, is an acknowledgement of MAC’s sustained commitment to providing outstanding customer care for their millions of visitors every year.
MAC has worked in partnership with website, digital strategy and branding experts, Supercool Design for several years. Commenting on MAC’s new online feature, The Head of Strategy at Supercool Design, Kate Mroczkowski, said: “We love finding smart ways to use technology to improve efficiencies and make everyone’s life a little easier. It’s been great working with the team at MAC, who are constantly pushing boundaries and happy to try new things. I can’t wait to see how offering live availability online (and in a mobile friendly format) impacts the team’s workload at MAC.”
MAC’s diary management and planning system is provided by cloud-based software specialists, Yesplan. On behalf of the company, Wouter Vermeylen, Managing Director said: “Wow. The website, availability viewer and enquiry tool all look amazing and very user friendly! Nice job done!”
Patrick Morsman, Sales Manager for Yesplan added: “We’re really happy that our customers are starting to use the API for projects like this. It’s such an intelligent use of the technology that will directly lead to time saving and efficiency. That’s what we and companies like Supercool are all about, making technology work harder so you can work smarter.”
As specialists in entertainment, MAC is able to produce outstanding, tailored events by providing dynamic spaces, technical expertise and personal touches. Their in-house team can assist with full stage management and production support for events, meeting technical requirements and offering guidance in ticketing, marketing and hospitality. Plus, having recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing as an interactive performance and meal in their theatre, they genuinely can create an out of this world experience.
