L-R: Gemma Woodall, Joanne Sandland and Jonny Wilkinson

Joanne Sandland, Pharmacy Assistant at Well Pharmacy Norton Canes Medical Centre on Brownhills Road, was awarded the Customer Care Award at The Recognition of Excellence Awards 2018, hosted by Training Matters, a highly-respected pharmacy magazine. These national awards bring together professionals from community pharmacy to recognise and reward the hard-working and dedicated pharmacy support staff who go above and beyond the call of duty to support their customers, patients, pharmacies and communities.

The awards were presented by Gemma Woodall, Training Matters Managing Editor and rugby superstar, Jonny Wilkinson, at a celebratory lunch held at The Dorchester in London on the 20th June 2018, where there were over 30 finalists in attendance from across the UK. There were a high number of entries and nominations this year, and the standards were remarkable.

Gemma Woodall, Managing Editor at Training Matters commented “Joanne really impressed the judges who described her as a talented Pharmacy Assistant with customer service skills that are second to none. A real inspiration and what community pharmacy is all about. She is a very worthy winner of the Customer Care Award”.

Tracy Barton, Retail Stores Director at Well Pharmacy said “I am delighted that Joanne has won this prestigious award, and that all of her hard work has been recognised. We are lucky to have someone working for us with such passion and dedication to both her pharmacy and her customers.

“At Well, customer care is our number one priority, and I am proud to see someone like Joanne making such a big impact in her local community”.
