A unique masquerade ball which promises an evening of gold, glitz, glamour and putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising, has been planned to celebrate Wyre Forest charity KEMP Hospice’s golden anniversary.

The charity, which is celebrating 50 years of providing care and support to people dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement, will host the stylish KEMP Hospice Golden Butterfly Ball on Friday September 27th in the grounds of Spring Grove House in Bewdley. The ball, sponsored by family jewellers T.H. Baker is set to raise money for the Wyre Forest charity as well as marking their golden milestone occasion.

Guests, at the £75.00 per head event will be treated to an exclusive performance by Wyre Forest entertainers Lady and The Sax with David Conley upon arrival with glasses of fizz and an opportunity to purchase masquerade items (for those who have arrived unmasked). Afterwards guests will be treated to a three-course meal, guest speakers, a charity auction, dinner games and an ‘after party’ which will take place in the underground Cellarz bar at Spring Grove House where Midlands band A-Syde will perform live for guests.

Alan Higgs, Chairman of TH Baker family jewellers said it was an event they were happy to sponsor: “The work that KEMP do is so vital to families across the Wyre Forest district and family is very important to us at TH Baker. Our business was founded by my great grandfather in 1888 and we remain a family run business, five generations strong. To be able to lend our support to such a worthwhile charity, with great family values such as KEMP in their anniversary year is something we are proud to do.”

KEMP Hospice CEO Heidi Hawkins said: “We wanted to do something to celebrate our birthday that would give people the chance to ‘dress to impress’ and have fun while raising much needed funds for KEMP. I love the idea of a masquerade ball and the theme is ’Black & Gold’. It will be a fabulous night, and a chance for the great and good of Worcestershire to let their hair down, have fun and do some good. We are so proud to have renowned jewellers T.H. Baker as our main sponsor and I would welcome any other local businesses that are interested in being a part of our event to get in touch with me. It promises to be a golden evening.”

KEMP Hospice was founded in 1969 and this year marks its 50th anniversary. Five decades on and the charity care and support for around a thousand people each year at a cost of around £1.5million and over 80% of its funding comes from fundraising and voluntary donations from the local community. The kindness and generosity of the Wyre Forest district is therefore vital in ensuring that the services that KEMP Hospice provide can continue.

Tickets for the KEMP Golden Butterfly Ball, priced at £75.00 per person or £700.00 for a table of 10, are available via: www.kemphospice.org.uk/butterflyball or by calling KEMP’s fundraising team on 00562 756066, with all money going towards the work of KEMP, the Wyre Forest’s hospice.
