Christmas is coming early to Glasgow as bestselling Scottish author Sophie Gravia prepares to celebrate her first festive romantic comedy, The Whole Package, with a special Bookface event at Berlinky’s on Wednesday 28 October.
Additional tickets are being released for the festive Sip & Swap, which promises an evening of books, bubbles, laughter and Christmas chaos with one of Scotland’s most entertaining contemporary fiction writers.
Hosted by Glasgow’s Bookface community, the event will bring readers together for an intimate evening with Sophie, whose sharp observations on modern relationships, dating disasters and Glaswegian life have earned her a devoted readership.
Her latest novel, The Whole Package, introduces Harriette, a woman who appears to have the perfect marriage and picture-perfect online life. But when her relationship spectacularly implodes during a disastrous Christmas cookie livestream, Harriette finds herself swapping her carefully curated existence for her childhood home in Glasgow’s Gorbals.
Suddenly she’s sleeping on her parents’ lumpy mattress, wearing fake Uggs and wondering where it all went wrong. Packed with romantic mishaps, family drama and Sophie’s trademark Scottish humour, the novel promises a festive helping of laughter, love and second chances.
The special Bookface evening will feature a live author interview, audience questions, a festive quiz, a meet and greet with Sophie and the chance to have photographs taken with the author. Every ticket includes a hardback copy of The Whole Package and a welcome drink, alongside access to Bookface’s popular sustainable book swap, where guests can bring up to four books to exchange with fellow readers.
Founded in Glasgow in 2020, Bookface has grown into an international community of around 20,000 readers, hosting more than 85 literary events and bringing book lovers together through its signature Sip & Swap gatherings.
Bookface founder and broadcaster Heather Suttie said: “Sophie is absolutely hilarious, and her books are packed with the kind of characters and situations that Glasgow women will instantly recognise.
“One of my favourite things about Bookface is seeing people arrive on their own and leave with new friends. There’s no pressure, no pretension, just a room full of people who love a good story.
“We’re releasing another 50 tickets and would love to welcome even more readers along for an early dose of festive fun.”
The Bookface Sip & Swap with Sophie Gravia takes place at Berlinky’s, Glasgow, on Wednesday 28 October 2026.
Tickets include a hardback copy of The Whole Package, a welcome drink, live author Q&A, festive quiz, meet and greet, photo opportunities and the book swap.
