The staff of Mount Pleasant Hotel took the catwalk by storm on 7th June at the hotel and  helped raise £4,000 for the charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

This year the theme for the hotel’s annual fundraiser was Fun, Fashion and Fundraise. Ledbury based Raft Clothing showcased its clothes and accessories, giving the guests an evening of shopping experience with inspiring and eclectic collections and, exclusive discount vouchers to spend in-store afterwards. The staff of the hotel, Ashlea Fleming, Maggie Barton, Kim Knight and Emily Brimmell took to the ramp to support the cause.

Guests were also entertained by the Capriccio Quartet and thanks to the support of so many local independent businesses, there were numerous fantastic raffle prizes that brought a lot of cheer.

The fun and fashion inspired evening started with welcome drinks, nibbles, the fashion show, buffet and a raffle.

Sarah Diston, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, Worcestershire, who was there at the event, said, “Macmillan staff help people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. Macmillan doesn’t receive government funding and rely on donations and money raised by supporters , and, money raised by supporters like The Mount Pleasant Hotel can help a wide range of Macmillan professional roles in Worcestershire”.

AJ Bains, General Manager, Mount Pleasant added: “We have received some great support from the community for the charity fashion show; be it volunteers to model the clothes to some amazing raffle prize sponsors or donors. Tom Bot together with his wife Caroline donated a sum of £1,000 during the evening. We are overwhelmed and so touched by such support. Our charity fashion show is our small way of contributing to a big cause”.
