Business is blooming as home and garden PR agency welcomes RHS Hampton Court garden designer to its portfolio

Holly Daulby

It’s shaping up to be an exciting year for home and garden agency Honest Communications, as it reveals bespoke landscape design firm, Melanie Hick Garden Design (MHGD), has enlisted its help to take business to the next level.

The specialist PR and communications agency has been brought on board to support Melbourne-born Melanie, who heads up the business, promote her show garden at the prestigious RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival.

Founded by Holly Daulby in 2019, the Honest team has extensive experience supporting brands at RHS shows and industry events, having worked with clients including Hillier Garden Centres, Henchman, Oxenwood and Seedball across many key calendar dates.

Notably, last year the Honest team provided PR and social media services for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s main show garden, The Memoria & GreenAcres Transcendence Garden, working with celebrity Jeff Brazier to inspire visitors to open up about death, bereavement and grieving.

This summer, Honest will help spread the word of Melanie’s “Climate-Forward Garden”, which is set to inspire visitors to the festival to transform their small outdoor spaces and courtyards into relaxing retreats with sustainability and style at the fore.

Holly commented: “We’re so excited to get stuck into our plans to promote Melanie’s beautiful yet poignant show garden at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival. Having worked with many of our clients at gardening events over the years, this kind of activity is our bread and butter – we love a good event and we’re thrilled to be onboard!

“Not only that, but MHGD also provides its clients with truly remarkable designs, and we’re delighted to be working with Melanie on a wider basis to help promote the business’ garden design services, share her expert advice and offer inspiration for any potential customers out there.”

The Climate-Forward Garden, which will be on display at Hampton Court Garden Festival from 2nd to 7th July, has been designed to be replicated in any sunny small garden or courtyard in the UK. It features a selection of wildlife-friendly and drought-resistant planting, a relaxing conversational area and central water feature designed to help guests reconnect with nature and one another.

Melanie Hick said: “It’s an honour to be selected to design a main show garden at RHS Hampton Court – it’s a huge opportunity so I wanted to make sure I had the very best team by my side to share the message far and wide. With that in mind, I appointed Honest Communications for their expertise in the industry, stellar contacts and experience in amplifying important sustainability messages.”

Melanie Hick Garden Design is the latest brand to join Honest Communications’ portfolio of clients. The Derby-based agency, which specialises in the gardening, home and lifestyle sectors, looks after a host of popular household names such as Alitex, Wilkinson Sword Garden Tools, Henchman, Town & Country, elho, WOLF-Garten, Seedball, Oxenwood, Hillier Garden Centres, and Cobra.
