Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford is going eco-friendly at its annual Blossom Fashion Show

Biopac UK Ltd kindly donated hundreds of compostable cups, cutlery, bowls and straws for Breast Cancer Haven’s Blossom Fashion Show, which is taking place on 31 May. Sourcing locally and turning away from plastic, the centre is not only proud to support women with breast cancer, but also proud to be thinking ethically when it comes to hosting events.

Breast Cancer Haven is a national charity that supports women throughout or after their breast cancer treatment. When breast cancer tries to rob a woman of her individuality, confidence or strength, Breast Cancer Haven provides a free tailored package of emotional, physical and practical support that helps her hold on to them.

Lucy Caden-Robinson, Marketing Manager for Biopac said, “We are honoured to have been asked to support this year’s Blossom Fashion Show, make the event more environmentally sustainable, and help to fund Breast Cancer Haven’s vital breast cancer support services. Blossom is a celebration of the confidence and strength of the show’s glamorous models, all of whom are local Breast Cancer Haven visitors, and Biopac are glad to be a part of the event.”

Julie Nicholas, Corporate Fundraising Officer for Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford said, “Biopac UK Ltd is the UK’s leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of eco-friendly food packaging and catering disposables and we are thrilled to be supported by them for this event and to be able to turn it more eco-friendly.”

Breast Cancer Haven also recycle and reuse bra donations, received via their ‘Bra Banks’ located at their Hereford centre, Marks & Spencer Hereford and at Bromyard Community Hospital.’VAG Rounded Std Thin’, Good quality bras are distributed on to women who desperately need them, whilst the rest are recycled instead of contributing towards the 20 tonnes of daily landfill. Collections have been gaining momentum, raising vital funds for the centre.
