Birmingham welcomes first awards ceremony exclusively for PAs

Kim Parker, RBS; Rachel Meiklejohn, Squire Patton Boggs; and Anne Green, RBS

An awards ceremony aimed directly at celebrating the achievements of Personal and Executive assistants has been launched in Birmingham, with applications for entry open now.

Created by Birmingham PA Forum – a network of over 250 industry professionals – the awards will recognise individuals for their commitment to their roles, for demonstrating excellence and sharing best practice, and for delivering above and beyond. They will shine a light on those who impart knowledge on future generations as well as take leadership roles in business.

A first of its kind in the city, nominations are welcome from individuals or their managers across five award categories: Team Player of the Year, Leading by Example, Newcomer of the Year, Innovator of the Year and The Greater Birmingham PA of the Year. The categories highlight and celebrate specific themes: motivation, inspiration, aspiration, innovation and celebration.

The inaugural event is being organised by a voluntary committee born out of Birmingham PA Forum’s success, with 12 of the city’s most experienced PAs and EAs sharing their knowledge to launch and deliver the Birmingham PA Awards 2018.

Daniel Skermer, Founder of Birmingham PA Forum, said: “I was overwhelmed at the response the Birmingham PA Forum initially had in Birmingham. It was high time a network was created to bring together the true gatekeepers of our city, and its success has seen numbers grow rapidly since its launch in November 2016.

“We knew that the forum needed to find a way to help shine a light on the unsung heroes of the sector, and the Birmingham PA Awards is a great platform to reward the stars of our industry and say thank you to those that share, lead and stand out above the crowd.”

Applications are open now and close on 31st January 2018. More information about categories, criteria and entry forms is available at www.birminghampaawards.co.uk
