Birmingham tax adviser prepares to take on the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100

Lucy Pilkington

Lucy Pilkington, a tax adviser at Birmingham-based chartered accountancy firm JW Hinks LLP, is in training to take part in this year’s Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 where she hopes to raise money for two charities.

The ride, which is due to take place Sunday 4 August, will see Lucy complete a gruelling 100-mile route through the capital and into the countryside surrounding it as she raises awareness and funding for Cancer Research UK and Friends of Alfie Johnson.

Outside of her day job as a Tax Assistant Manager, Lucy has been attending spin classes, getting out on her bike in her home town of Tamworth and running in order to get fit for the tough challenge that lies ahead.

She chose Cancer Research UK as one of her charities as she says that everyone  is affected by cancer in some way during their life, while Friends of Alfie Johnson is JW Hinks charity of the Year. The organisation provides support to children with disabilities throughout the Black Country.

Speaking about her upcoming ride, Lucy said: “I am really looking forward to taking part in this year’s Prudential Ride and can’t wait to get underway. I hope that my participation in this tough event can help raise money for these two wonderful causes. I am already very thankful for the support that I have received from friends, family and my colleagues.”

Neal Aston, Managing Partner at JW Hinks, added: “We are immensely proud of Lucy and all that she is doing to raise money for these two fantastic charities. We are behind her all the way and can’t wait to find out how much she can raise.”
