Home Instead Senior Care, a home care company that provides care for older people in the client’s own home in Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding area, hit the right notes during this year’s BBC Music Day, by getting people singing and dancing for dementia.
The fifth BBC Music Day took place on September 26th with the aim to focus on music and wellbeing and highlight the power of music to inspire and bring people together.
Home Instead hosted an extremely successful ‘Musical Memories’ event at the Gracechurch Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield. The event included some of our own talented CAREGivers,The Rock Choir, No Direction, The Wellbeing Choir, Bob Gessey, Anvil Chorus and not forgetting Gordon Giltrap, MBE, a famous guitarist who appeared on Top of the Pops in the 70’s.
The event ended with a performance from the local Mere Green Memory Cafe members, which is also run by Home Instead, who took to the stage to perform and showcase the power of music.
On the day, the team collected donations for the Alzheimer’s Society, and managed to raise an amazing £849.54.
