No5 Barristers’ Chambers renews Birmingham City sponsorship deal for fourth season

A Birmingham barristers’ chambers has renewed its ground-breaking partnership with Birmingham City Football Club for the fourth-consecutive season in a link-up that has helped to raise thousands of pounds for regional charities.

No5 Barristers’ Chambers has agreed to support the club once again, in a deal that will see its logo emblazoned on the back of both the Blues’ home and away kits.

The partnership, which started in 2015, saw the central Birmingham-based chambers break new ground.

Tony McDaid, CEO and Director of Clerking at No5 said: “When we set off on this journey, it was, and remains, a first for a barristers’ chambers and, as with all firsts, it was speculative. Three years on we have developed a mutually beneficial relationship and bond with the Blues, and many of its partners, that goes beyond mere business.

“The collaborative relationship we have formed with Birmingham City has led to us creating numerous initiatives to the benefit of local and national charities. This is something both No5 and the club are particularly proud of and we are in active discussion as to what we can do together over the coming season.”

During the past three seasons, there have been several fundraising initiatives and this year’s World Cup will be no exception as No5 and BCFC are working in conjunction to host a charity event in support of Cure Leukaemia.

The World Cup Cook-off saw Michelin star chefs Glynn Purnell and Luke Tipping create a World Cup themed menu ready for the England v Tunisia opening group game on June 18, which will be shown live on a big screen in the Jasper Carrot Suite. Former international Blues players will also join the event.

Ian Dutton, Head of Commercial at the Blues, said: “I am absolutely delighted that No5 Barristers’ Chambers has agreed to extend its deal. This level of sponsorship continuity can be rare, so it is a testament to No5’s commitment to the club and the wider value they receive through their association with us.

“We have a proven track record in working successfully together with some outstanding initiatives within the community. Their continued support and loyalty to the club is very much appreciated, and we are really excited about working with No5 for next season and many more seasons to come.”

One recent initiative saw No5 donate its back of shirt sponsorship for the #GetShirty campaign which put the spotlight on four Birmingham-based charities – Citizen AidCure LeukaemiaBirmingham Children’s Hospital and St. Basils.  Fans were given the chance to vote for their favourite charity to feature on the back of the Blues shirts for the home game against Wolves in April.  Birmingham Children’s Hospital won the overall vote over the whole campaign, which also included a popular fundraising evening that raised more than £5,000 for all four charities.

Other initiatives included matchday raffles for Headway – the brain injury association.

No5 Barristers’ Chambers is an award-winning chambers, committed to delivering the highest standard of service from its offices in Birmingham, London, Bristol and Leicester. It has more than 250 members.
