Residents and staff at Fountains Care Home in Shirley Solihull celebrated the life of Vera Lynn who died at the staggering age of 103! She was one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers and it seemed only fitting for our residents to enjoy a celebration of her wonderful life.
The morning was spent enjoying a show of “Dame Vera live at the BBC” in the cinema room.
Everyone had a lot of fun singing along to their favourite songs & enjoying the memories these songs evoked. It turned into a lovely reminisce session.
In the afternoon everyone enjoyed a delicious English tea party to continue the celebrations. Our talented hospitality team prepared an impressive selection of sandwiches with freshly baked scones accompanied with cream and jam, mini cakes and delicious flapjacks too.
It was a lovely day and a perfect way to celebrate and remember Vera Lynn.
