It’s not every day that a TV personality drops by to sing a very special song, but that’s exactly what happened recently at Court House Care Home in Malvern, part of the Superior Care (Midlands) Group.
To celebrate the 51st birthday of one of its residents, who has been living with cerebral palsy all his life, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Pippa Langhorne popped in to sing ‘happy birthday’ and entertain other residents with a string of well-known songs.
There were smiles all around from the birthday boy, staff, and fellow residents at the Court Road-based home as everyone joined in the celebration.
Manager Anamaria Driment said: “We were delighted that Pippa could spare the time to spend a few hours with us. It lifted everyone’s spirits, and the corridors and rooms of our home were filled with music and song throughout the afternoon.
“It was a great day all round and proves how powerful music can be when it comes to bringing people closer together.”
Pippa said: “It was an absolute pleasure to entertain the residents of Court House. It was a beautiful day, and everyone was so very welcoming—a much better audience than the judges of BGT!”
Court House prides itself on person-centred care, and the birthday resident is a huge fan of the show. Staff therefore arranged for this former contestant to visit, knowing just how much it would mean to him.
