The Flexible Space Association (FlexSA) has officially launched its new Health & Safety Forum. The inaugural meeting took place on 25 March at WeWork’s flagship building at 10 York Road, London SE1, chaired by Rafael Perez, Global Health and Safety Senior Director at WeWork.
The Health & Safety Forum has been created especially for employees of FlexSA member companies who hold responsibility for health and safety practices in workspaces. It follows the long-standing FlexSA Compliance Forum, which has successfully run for over a decade.
The Health & Safety Forum is designed to support collaboration, enable members to share best practice, and provide a dedicated space to discuss upcoming legislative and policy developments that may impact operators across the UK flex market.
This focus on collaboration and shared expertise is increasingly important given the scale of work‑related health challenges across the UK. In 2024/25, an estimated 1.9 million workers suffered from work‑related ill health, with associated ill health and injuries resulting in around 40.1 million working days lost (HSE). These figures highlight the ongoing pressures placed on both workers and businesses.
Rafael Perez, WeWork, comments, “Health and safety is fundamental to the success and reputation of our sector. This Forum provides a much‑needed platform for collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement, and I’m delighted to support its establishment.”
Recognising the need to make the Forum accessible to all member companies, the second meeting will be held online, enabling wider participation from across the UK.
