The first ever team member at Northampton’s Silverstone Leasing has celebrated her 14th anniversary working at the vehicle leasing firm.
Aby Mason started at Silverstone Leasing just a couple of months after managing director Scott Norville established the company in 2012 and it was still finding its feet, delivering around 60 vehicles a year.
Since then, the independent family-run leasing broker has grown significantly, now supplying thousands of cars and vans to customers across the UK each year.
Aby has also grown with the firm, going from an administrative sales support role to a sales executive, before being promoted to head of in contract. She is now account manager for the personal leasing side of the business, Embrace Leasing.
Scott says Aby has played an important role in helping shape Silverstone Leasing and its customer-first culture from the very beginning.
“Aby was our first team member, so she has been part of almost every chapter of the Silverstone story,” said Scott.
“When she joined us, she worked in Customer Care. We deliberately called it Customer Care rather than Customer Service because we wanted customers to know that we genuinely cared about their experience and about doing things properly.
“Fourteen years later, that principle is still at the heart of the business.”
Many of the administrative processes currently in place at the firm have been implemented by Aby over the years. She built a lot of all the current sales support systems and has been instrumental in the company’s success.
Scott added: “Fourteen years is a long time, and during that period we have been through just about everything together – marriages, births, bereavements, a global pandemic and all the highs and lows that come with running a business.
“There are three words that sum Aby up perfectly: trust, loyalty and dedication.
“You can invest in systems, technology and marketing, but you cannot buy loyalty or experience. Those things are built over time.
“Silverstone Leasing would not be the business it is today without Aby’s contribution, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done over the last 14 years.
“I certainly have a few more grey hairs than I did when we started, but here’s to the next decade.”
Aby, who was just a teenager when she began her Silverstone Leasing journey, said: “There’s not many times that I’ve heard of anyway, that someone starts in a new start business at the age of 18 and stays the duration.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s been one hell of a rollercoaster over the years, with many laughs, tears, memories and growth both
in business and personally.
“I’ve grown up at Silverstone and Scott has genuinely helped me become the woman I am today. Thank you for giving me the opportunity 14 years ago Scott. Forever grateful, forever Silverstone.”
