Today Peter and Steph Shilton launched Mid and North East Essex Mind’s inaugural Gala Dinner.

The mental health charity for mid and north Essex will be hosting a Gala Dinner on Thursday 10th October 2019 to celebrate World Mental Health Day, the event will take place at Colchester United Stadium.

Guests will enjoy a Champagne reception followed by a three course meal, music and entertainment including an after dinner speech from Peter Shilton OBE and a performance from semi-professional Jazz and Blues vocalist Steph. We will be joined by some top football legends and celebrities on the evening.

Steph said “I’m in my second year of service as a Trustee for Mid and North East Essex Mind. I’m so excited about the Gala Dinner and overwhelmed by the huge response we’ve received. Mental Health is a subject close to so many people’s heart and there is such a need for support. I’m truly grateful to all the amazing singers, sporting legends, celebrities and Will Quince who are kindly supporting the event”

Peter said “I’m so proud that my wife continues to support her hometown and her chosen charity, she’s working extremely hard in delivering an amazing charity event in October. It’s terrific that Colchester United, sporting legends and great celebrities are all attending to support World Mental Health Day for Mid and North East Essex Mind. I’m looking forward to supporting Steph on the evening”

James McQuiggan, Chief Executive of Mid and North East Essex Mind said ‘We are pleased to be hosting our first Gala Dinner in Colchester and to be joined by Peter and Steph. The event will mark World Mental Health Day, where mental health organisations from across the globe will come together to raise awareness and increase support for mental health. The money we raise at this event will allow us to grow our mental healthcare services locally.’

Tickets are £55 and can be purchased from the event website: https://mnessexmind.org/support-us/gala-dinner/. Tables and Corporate Sponsorship packages are also available.

Mid and North East Essex Mind provide counselling, peer support and practical support for children, young people and adults across the area. This year, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem and Mid and North East Essex Mind want to make sure no one has to face this alone.
