Start-up 11Onze’s “TAPP”, promoting an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle, gets a huge boost

In line with community fintech 11Onze’s mission to promote an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle in Catalonia, it launched TAPP – a revolutionary, yet easy to use water filter that allows customers to reduce plastic waste and save money.

The new product was embraced by the community for its eco-friendly and sustainable characteristics.

“The launch has been a huge success. We know that our community is invested in a sustainable lifestyle. To cater to their demand, we have launched our “Essentials” service wherein we offer environment friendly and cost-effective alternatives to basic, daily-use products in the market. TAPP is first in the series,” said James Séne, Chairman, 11Onze.

TAPP not only helps with reducing living costs in these times of inflation, it also offers a healthy lifestyle choice.

Séne added, “These “essentials” are small, everyday expenses that, at the end of the year, have a major impact on our finances.  For example, the simple installation of this filter, which does not require any tools, is equivalent to a saving of more than 1,100 euros per year for a family of four. From almost 1,200 euros for the purchase of bottled water to less than 90 euros.”

As it is well recorded, single-use plastic bottles and bottled water production are damaging our ecosystems, endangering marine life and polluting the food chain.

Drinking water from plastic bottles remains one of the biggest culprits. In fact, over the course of a year a 3-person household generates approximately 274 kg of carbon emissions from bottled water consumption alone. Using a water filter helps cut this figure to just 3 kg.

Further, the issue of bottled water remains a significant problem to not only the well-being of our environment, but the quality of our health as well. Studies suggest disposable, plastic water bottles can harbour hundreds of tiny bits of plastic, and we’re drinking them down with bottled water.

Sandra Molas, 11Onze sales manager seconded, “The response from the community has been fantastic and many people have joined the initiative in the first few weeks. We will continuously look for tools and products that help the community reduce their fixed costs,” said Molas.
