Leicester’s new Novotel hotel has given four new sports kits to St Paul’s Catholic School in Evington to celebrate its recent launch on the Great Central Square development.

The hotel, which opened its doors last week, hopes to support future generations of the local community by providing sponsorship and brand new kits for St Paul’s athletics, basketball, football and netball teams.

Shelley Conaghan, Principal at St Paul’s, said: “Students and staff at St Paul’s are incredibly committed to sport and enjoy competing against other schools. Whilst representing St Paul’s, it is fitting that the kit makes the children look and feel great so they can be proud ambassadors for the school.

“We’re really grateful to Novotel for this investment, it means so much to our staff and students and we can’t wait to see the new kit in action.”

James Conaghan, General Manager at Novotel Leicester, said: “It’s great to see the students in the kit and we’re glad we could contribute towards their physical education. Sports play a huge part in Leicester’s legacy and we want to encourage children to continue this for generations to come.

“It’s incredibly important that we reach out and do what we can for the local community and Novotel hopes to bring an abundance of benefits to the region – both through tourism and community engagement.”

The £50 million development includes two flagship hotels – a luxury, full-service Novotel and a long-stay Adagio aparthotel – as well as independent restaurant NineB.
