My name is Ceri Justice and I am a singer-songwriter.
I also am the current proprietor of a small music venue called the Tower Of Song.
I have written three albums so far Justified, Walk In Shadow and more recently Cut Loose which was very successful in an Americana and Roots chart in the USA.
What does a typical day look like for you, and how do you structure your time?
I usually multi-task with e-mails, phone calls and sometimes write song lyrics too, not forgetting household chores ?!
What’s one myth about your industry or role that you’d like to bust?
That someone is an overnight success? It usually takes much longer?!
What does success look like to you – has that changed over time?
My desire is to be happy and recognised in my chosen field of song-writing and to reach a global audience of listeners
I think that was always “the dream” ?
What’s one initiative or achievement you’re particularly proud of — and why?
I am very proud of the success of my third album Cut Loose in a USA Chart.
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your work?
I sincerely hope that I am thought of and remembered as an artist whose words and music touched , reached and gave comfort and hope to many people.
What’s the most surprising lesson you’ve learned in your leadership journey?
That people vary very widely in their opinions and ideas about specific concepts.
How do you stay motivated when things get tough?
I was raised to get back up when things got tough ?!
Also my desire to reach a a wide audience of people listening to my songs helps me to stay motivated.
What are you currently reading, listening to, or watching that’s helping you grow?
I am reading and researching some psychology including self-knowledge and the concept of fear.
Which leader or entrepreneur has influenced you the most — and why?
My father came from humble beginnings but had much ambition and a very good work ethic.
What’s one piece of advice you wish you’d been given at the start of your career?
I wish someone had focused me earlier when I was young and told me to just try despite a youthful lack of confidence ?
