SJ Group signs Armed Forces Covenant – A proud commitment to Veterans and their families

SJ Group is proud to announce the official signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to supporting the UK’s Armed Forces community.

The Armed Forces Covenant represents a solemn promise that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, will be treated with fairness and respect across our society. As a business, SJ Group is honoured to stand behind this pledge.

This initiative holds a deeply personal significance for Neil Cayley, Director at SJ Group, who himself served as an Engineer in the Royal Air Force. His time in uniform instilled a lasting appreciation for the sacrifices made by our service personnel and their families.

“At SJ Group, supporting veterans, reservists, and military families isn’t just policy – it’s a core part of our identity,” says Neil. “Having served in the RAF, I understand first-hand the challenges faced by those transitioning into civilian careers. We’re committed to providing meaningful opportunities, flexible support, and lasting recognition.”

By signing the Covenant, SJ Group pledges to:

• Support the employment of veterans and service leavers, recognising their unique skills and qualifications.
• Provide flexibility to employees who are reservists, cadet volunteers, or spouses of service members.
• Promote Armed Forces-friendly practices across recruitment, staff policies, and public-facing initiatives.
• Support military charities and national events like Armed Forces Day and Remembrance.

This is more than a signature – it’s a tangible commitment to ensuring no member of the Armed Forces community faces disadvantage. SJ Group invites its partners, clients, and peers to join in creating a supportive environment for those who have given so much in service to our country.
