There’s a chance to find out more about your local hospice later this month as Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice staff and volunteers hold a coffee morning at Flitwick Village Hall.

Taking place between 10am and 1pm on Friday 22nd November, it will help raise awareness, bust myths about hospice care and tell people more about the exciting events coming up in support of local families needing expert and compassionate palliative care.

There will be the chance to talk with members of the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice family support, volunteering and fundraising teams as well as speak with Sue Ryder Nurses about the care they help give.

As well as delicious home-made cakes and a charity raffle, there will also be  information on upcoming exciting events planned in Bedfordshire in support of the hospice, including Lights of Love, collection dates, country dances, charity balls and more.

Hayley Webb is Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice. She said, “We want to reach out to people in the local community to tell them more about the palliative care and family support services we offer, and how people can get involved in supporting their local hospice.”

“In this area, we’ve cared for over 35 people in our inpatient unit, and over 125 through the Palliative Care Hub over the past year. We want to give more care to more people, but this can only happen if more people know about our services and are inspired to support our hospice so we can raise the funds to continue to be there when it matters.”

“It promises to be a great morning with lots of delicious cakes and conversation on offer.”

Entry to the coffee morning is free, with refreshments on offer raising funds for the hospice’s care.

There need to book, just pop along between 10am and 1pm on Friday 22nd November to Flitwick Village Hall, 11 Dunstable Rd, Flitwick, Bedford MK45 1HP
