A leading Redditch recruitment company has donated almost £12,000 to a local charity in 2017 through a variety of fundraising efforts.

Staff at Workforce Staffing, based in Church Green West, have raised £11,500 for popular Primrose Hospice – a charity chosen by staff to support this year and again for 2018.

The funds have been raised through a variety of events including a charity golf day, a team taking part in the grueling 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, and two team members taking part in the Ride London to Surrey 100 charity cycle.

Workforce has also sponsored a business event and held several dress down days to raise funds.

Paul Alekna, CEO of Workforce Staffing said: “Primrose Hospice does an amazing job to support people and their families and we know the money we are donating is being put to the best use possible.

“We have had a great time at different events and holding fundraising days throughout this year. The staff have really grasped the importance of supporting such a worthwhile and essential cause.

Kate Kelly, corporate fundraising manager at Primrose Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Paul and his team at Workforce Staffing for their support this year. They have taken part in a variety of events and the effort from their team has been second to none. Everyone has been so generous with not only donations, but with their spare time too.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Workforce over the next twelve months”.

Primrose Hospice needs £1.75 million every year to keep running all its services, but gets less than a fifth of its funding from the NHS. The charity relies heavily on voluntary donations. It offers a Day Hospice, Home Service and Family Support.

Staff at Workforce vowed to support Primrose Hospice following a company-wide vote last Autumn. The firm’s offices in Warwickshire voted to raise funds for Myton Hospice.
