A leading private GP group which has just been shortlisted in this year’s Midlands Rural Business Awards is set to launch a new service across Derbyshire in September.
Concierge Medical, which has services in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, is expanding into Derbyshire in response to the growing demand in the county – and already has two Derbyshire GPs on board.
With more than 1,500 patients already using its member-only service, Concierge Medical, which was established in 2013, will offer a seven-day, home-visiting GP service, focussing largely around rural areas across the county and promoting a return to the ‘old fashioned’ family doctor relationship.
Led by medical directors Dr Karl Braine and Dr Simon Gillson, the GP group has just been shortlisted for the Best Rural Professional Services Business in the 2019 Rural Business Awards, to be held at the University of Nottingham on October 1.
Dr Braine said: “We have been fortunate to have our service recognised by various industry and business awards over the years and we’re naturally very happy to have been shortlisted in the Rural Business Awards.
“It’s always nice to see the effort and dedication we put into our services being recognised with awards but, of course, the priority for us is always providing our patients with the best possible medical service and we’re now delighted to be offering individuals and businesses across Derbyshire the very best in healthcare.”
Delivering the Concierge Medical services in the county will be Dr Sasha Wheatcroft and Dr Jenny Thornhill who, between them, boast more than 23 years in General Practice and are both Derbyshire born and bred.
Dr Wheatcroft, who attended Ashbourne Show earlier this month, said: “Jenny and I are excited to be able to champion Concierge Medical’s ethos and are looking forward to working in an environment that engenders the doctor-patient relationship in which we know our patients and they know us.”
