Prime numbers go up as impressive growth continues

Prime Accountants’ Managing Director Kevin Johns welcomes eleven new recruits to his expert team to further enhance the first-class service the accountancy firm offers its clients

One of the largest independent accountancy firms in the Midlands is building on its strong growth with the appointment of 11 new staff members and the launch of a probate service.

Prime Accountants Group, which has offices in Solihull, Birmingham and Coventry, is expanding its team following impressive growth in business which has resulted in a surge in annual turnover to more than £7 million.

Prime now employs more than 100 staff and has seen recent additions at every level and across all three of its offices. The broad variety of new talent increases the range of expert advice across services including tax planning, wealth management, audit and accounts, payroll, book-keeping, forensic accounting and a newly-opened probate offering.

Managing Director Kevin Johns said: “At Prime, we have adopted a two-pronged approach of investing both in the business and in talented new personnel to help us expand and excel in the service we offer to our clients.

“We are always looking to improve and evolve and those goals are perfectly illustrated by this addition of 11 new staff and the launch of our probate service.

“In terms of our probate offering, we always aim to provide clients with a complete solution, satisfying all their accounting and wealth planning requirements.

“For many clients, we have been their advisers for a number of years and will have discussed their plans for a legacy. Being authorised to deliver probate now means we can use this knowledge to implement their wishes.”

Heading the list of new recruits is the vastly-experienced Claire Lea, who has joined as an associate tax director. She has 15 years’ specialist tax experience and will head up Prime’s Tax Advisory offering.

Her arrival further enhances the tax offering Prime is able to provide, particularly in working to structure clients’ affairs to meet their business objectives and personal goals.

The tax team has been boosted further by the arrival of chartered tax adviser Indu Melvin as a tax manager at the Birmingham office, specialising in Private Client Tax.

The highly-experienced Indu specialises in Private Client Tax and has worked with a broad range of clients including high net worth individuals, owner managed businesses and property landlords.

She also has experience of trusts and has worked closely with trustees to ensure their trusts have adhered to the influx of increased regulation.

Jayne Ison arrives with more than 16 years’ financial experience, having previously worked for HSBC and Zurich Financial, while Adam Williams has joined the payroll department.

Prime also welcome graduates Lemar Chandegra (Accountancy and Finance) and Haroon Gulfraz (Business and Finance) with Joseph Young returning from travelling in Asia to study to become a Financial Adviser.

The other new faces are Ellie Herdman, Sonia Fard, Sarah Dexter and Sarah Branagh, who have joined the team in its VAO, admin and Prime Wealth departments.
