Nottingham based alcohol licensing law firm Poppleston Allen has announced that it has promoted Associate Sarah Taylor to Partner as of April 1st.

Sarah advises a number of national clients on licensing matters, including such leading brands as Mitchells & Butlers, PizzaStorm (Bakkavor Restaurant Group) and Camerons Brewery.

In her new role as Partner, Sarah will be involved in the wider management of the firm and also play a role in developing new business.

Lisa Sharkey, Managing Partner at Poppleston Allen, comments: “It is a privilege for me to announce that Sarah has been promoted to Partner. We always look to recognise the dedication of our people and promote from within wherever possible. And in the nine years that Sarah has been part of Poppleston Allen, she has consistently excelled in her legal service delivery. Sarah is a real asset to our firm and I look forward to working alongside her for many years to come.”

Taylor comments: “I am delighted to have made Partner here at Poppleston Allen and am really looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The current Partners have built a fantastic firm that sits at the forefront of the alcohol licensing sector, and I’m sure I can help to build on this for the years ahead.”

Sarah joined Poppleston Allen as a temporary paralegal in June 2010 and by September of the same year, was a trainee solicitor having immediately impressed Lisa Sharkey.

Sarah advises on various aspects of alcohol licensing law including new premises licence applications, major / minor variations, licensing reviews, enforcement action, appeals and leases.

This promotion now means the firm, which has offices in Nottingham’s Lace Market and central London, has 9 partners, 2 associates, 6 solicitors and 41 support staff all focusing purely on alcohol licensing, associated regulatory and betting & gaming.
