Pallet-Track chooses Marie Curie as its charity of the year

Leading Wolverhampton logistics firm Pallet-Track has announced that Marie Curie will be its nominated charity for 2018.

Pallet-Track will run a host of fundraising events across the year in support of the charity, which supports people living with terminal illnesses and their families to make the most of the time they have together.

Marie Curie Nurses work night and day in people’s homes across the UK and the charity’s hospices, providing care and vital emotional support for people living with a terminal illness.

The announcement of a new nominated charity for Pallet-Track follows a hugely successful 2017, where it raised £20,000 for WellChild, in support of its work caring for children with serious illnesses and complex care needs across the UK. It achieved this through events including its annual golf day, a family funday and its gala dinner.

Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director of Pallet-Track, said:

“Each year we choose a charity as the main recipient of our fundraising efforts, to help support their vital work.

“We place a huge emphasis on the importance of teamwork at Pallet-Track and, because of this, we know we can rely on our staff and member network to get behind great causes such as Marie Curie.”

Natalie Mayo, senior corporate partnerships manager at Marie Curie, said:

“Our ageing population means more and more people are living longer with a terminal illness in the UK.

“We care for people with any terminal diagnosis – this might be terminal cancer but also includes illnesses such as heart disease, motor neurone disease and dementia.

“We support the patient and their loved ones throughout their illness, from when they are diagnosed through to the final weeks and days of their lives.

“Every pound donated ensures that we can continue to provide this crucial service, so helps people living with a terminal illness and we are extremely grateful to Pallet-Track for its support.”
