This week, finance specialists Woodrow Mercer has opened its fourth office in the space of six years in Nottingham, East Midlands.

The recruitment agency, set up by Managing Director, Dan Ostrowski, was founded in 2012 with the vision of developing an ethical recruitment company that goes above and beyond for its staff, customers and candidates.

Woodrow Mercer will base itself at the heart of Nottingham’s business quarter in the landmark City Gate East building and use its specialist knowledge to source finance professionals from across the county, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and everywhere in-between.

The new Nottingham team, launched by experienced finance recruiters Danny Greene (Associate Director) and Aaron Briggs (Senior Consultant) have promised a quality-driven and thorough recruitment process delivered by experienced consultants in partnership with in-house Finance Directors. The agency uses an industry-leading technology platform to conduct interviews and vet candidates.

Dan Ostrowski, Managing Director at Woodrow Mercer, said: “We have been looking to set up a finance division in Nottingham for some time and were immediately attracted to the very consultative and strategic services offered by Danny and Aaron. They will be able to provide a unique service alongside our current operation.

“All of our senior team are finance directors as we have found that the ethos of ‘FDs recruiting FDs’ resonates well within the market. Woodrow Mercer provides a demonstrable difference in comparison to most recruiters in the finance sector.”

Woodrow Mercer, which also has offices in Birmingham, London and Leeds, earmarked the East Midlands as a potential gap in the market some months ago and have acted swiftly to capitalise on the lack of capability to satisfy the demand for finance professionals in the area.

Its Nottingham office’s primary focus will be on keeping the best talent in the East Midlands and attracting talented and qualified professionals to the area, boosting the local economy.

Greene and Briggs will also be recruiting internally throughout Q1 of this year, with ten more experienced recruiters from across the East Midlands expected to join the company by Christmas, 2019.

Danny Greene, Associate Director at Woodrow Mercer, added: “We’re bringing a genuine alternative to conventional recruitment to the East Midlands. Our candidate-centric approach ensures that we find the very best candidates, uncovering hidden gems for our clients and building strong, lasting relationships with them in the process.”

“We look forward to working with businesses from across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire providing an unrivalled advisory service that allows clients to structure their company’s finance function expertly.”

The news comes as Woodrow Mercer readies itself for the launch of a further two offices in Hull and Manchester before the end of month.
