New appointment for the corporate finance team at FRP Birmingham

L-R: Harriet Wileman and Colin Strevens

Specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory LLP has reinforced its commitment to businesses across the Midlands with the appointment of Harriet Wileman. Harriet joins FRP as a manager in its Birmingham office, further strengthening its national corporate finance and advisory practice. FRP now provides dedicated corporate finance services from seven of its 19 nationwide offices.

Harriet joins FRP from PwC, where she was a manager in the transaction services team. Before this, she worked with PwC’s corporate finance function, where she advised public, privately-owned and private equity-backed clients across a broad range of sectors on a number of M&A transactions.

At FRP, Harriet will be responsible for identifying and executing M&A activity across the Midlands, with a particular focus on supporting owner-managed businesses. This will include advising on business sales, company acquisitions, valuations and debt and equity fundraising projects together with providing general advisory assistance.

Commenting on her appointment, Harriet said: “FRP has invested heavily in building its wide range of advisory services and I am extremely excited at the prospect of helping to grow its national practice.”

“I am passionate about supporting privately-owned businesses, so FRP’s focus on this area of the market, together with the way its people approach all interactions with energy, enthusiasm, and compassion, meant that the opportunity really resonated strongly with me. I’m looking forward to contributing to this fast-growing, entrepreneurial firm.”

Colin Strevens, corporate finance director at FRP Advisory, added: “FRP has experienced strong growth in recent years following a number of impressive client wins and new service offering appointments. Investing in our people to further strengthen the expertise and talent we have on the ground in the Midlands is essential to continue to grow.”

“Harriet has a very complementary skill set including Corporate Finance and Transaction Services experience so we are confident that she will have a tangible positive impact on our corporate finance and advisory offering, enabling us to continue to support businesses across the region.”

FRP has also recently welcomed Samantha Busby to its Birmingham office as an assistant manager in the restructuring and advisory team.
