Proverb Skin, founded by elite skincare and sporting duo, Kirstie and Luke Sherriff, have taken the first step in re-launching their entire skincare range with plastic-free packaging, wading the way for fellow supergiant cosmetic companies to follow suit.
This Black Friday, Proverb Skin have pledged it to be the most exciting yet. Fellow Co-Founder, Luke Sherriff talks about all of the exciting savings you can make: “This Black Friday, we want to give back to all of our awesome customers that have supported us from our crowdfunding days back in 2019. We have launched our skincare trial samples in the first-ever paper home compostable sachets and have new aluminium packaging for our best selling Cleanse & Shave Nutrient Mud and Energising Facial Scrub.”
“Plus, we have a brand new citrus scent coming for our Natural Refillable Deodorant collection. After surveying our customers on what scent they would like us to launch next, this one just kept cropping back up – it was too highly requested to ignore!”
While the idea of Black Friday deals easily moves to “fast-shopping” steering away from sustainability, Proverb Skin has not strayed from the idea of sustainability without compromise. Instead, they encourage all to adopt a Green Friday approach. Green Friday motivates everyone to choose to shop sustainable brands, so you can be assured that while searching for your bargains you’re not making a deal with the environmental devil.

Proverb Skin makes sure to only ever use natural and organic ingredients. The new launch aluminium tube, Energising Face Scrub, for instance, has reclaimed blitzed avocado stone and coconut shell as a natural exfoliant. National Geographic announced that microplastics, which are commonly found within facial and body scrubs, have been found in every corner of the globe, and it has been reported that 11 million tonnes of plastic are predicted to be making their way to our oceans every year.
Skincare expert and co-founder of Proverb Skin, Kirstie Sherriff explained the move to eco-friendlier packaging: “For us as a brand, it was a no-brainer. The ethos of Proverb is ‘get out what you put in’ – so when it came to creating a skincare range, we wanted to give people products that they know are doing good for their skin and the planet.”
Following on from their Refillable Deodorant, with paper wrapped refills, launched in 2020 the brand has spent the past year focusing on their environmental impact by reducing their plastic waste in their skincare ranges, to offsetting their carbon emissions to save the wildlife in Kenya through Earthly.
