National Express West Midlands ran a Brum Zombie Bus in service for Halloween – spooking up £400 in donations to support CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.
The charity’s Fundraising Engagement Manager Elaine Griffin recently returned to the garage to collect the £400 and say thanks to the team – only this time they looked a little different.
On Wednesday 30th October 2019 the bus company’s Birmingham Central garage ran a special 666 bus service on a loop around the city centre. Staff on board dressed up in full Halloween costume to play their part and help raise vital funds for CLIC Sargent.
The Ghoulsville 666 service via Hell and Back was free but those brave enough to step on board were kind (or scared!) enough to give generously and helped the local garage to raise £400.
Elaine Griffin, Fundraising Engagement Manager for CLIC Sargent, said: “I’m so thrilled that the garage was able to raise £400 for CLIC Sargent. This donation could provide two families with a vital diagnosis grant to help cover the essentials after their child’s cancer diagnosis, or it could provide a family with nine nights of free accommodation at one of our homes from home. National Express West Midlands are a fantastic supporter and I’m excited to see what they do next!”
