Award-winning social housing provider Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) has partnered with Nottingham-based HR, payroll and talent experts MHR, to unify its core HR and payroll processes onto a single system using leading cloud-based solution, iTrent.

Established in 2006, SARH owns and manages over 6,000 homes in the Borough of Stafford, delivers an award winning Telecare home safety and personal security system for the elderly and vulnerable and its trading company Housing Worx, delivers planned maintenance works to its properties.

SARH will be using iTrent to streamline the key processes involved in the management of its 200 employees, in order to gain critical workforce insight across the organisation and boost employee communication and engagement.

Investing in iTrent is part of a wider digital transformation project, ‘Making Every Contact Count’, which SARH started in 2015 to drive engagement with customers and enhance the work experience, wellbeing and personal growth of its people.

Earlier this year the commitment SARH has to its people was recognised with the organisation achieving second place overall in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Not for Profit Organisations to Work For list and the top housing association on the list, ahead of many household names and well-known national charities.

Jo Hough, Director of Organisational Development at SARH says: “Following a rigorous public procurement process we are delighted to partner with an experienced provider in MHR for the provision of its iTrent solution, and look forward to the implementation going live in April.

“Encouraging our people to ‘Be the Best they can Be’ is central to our continued growth and ability to deliver exceptional service to our customers and communities we serve. By consolidating our critical people processes on a single system, iTrent will improve the efficiency of data recording and speed up core tasks for payroll, recruitment, and performance management while providing us with the insight we need to support the continuous professional development of our people.

“Furthermore, the addition of modules for employee and management self-service will empower our people to better manage their working time which promises to improve overall productivity and engagement.”

Anton Roe, CEO at MHR comments: “We are thrilled to support SARH, a company that is deeply committed to developing its people and placing them at the heart of its growth strategy. Bringing its HR and payroll functions together using iTrent will support the organisation to maximise the value of its resources and achieve new levels of engagement to enhance customer service.”

MHR supports a large number of UK housing associations, who collectively employ over 70,000 employees.
