JAQKS chicken shop opened their newest Birmingham city centre store on Temple Row with an official visit from the Lord Mayor.
Councillor Mohammed Afzal officially opened the restaurant cutting the red ribbon in front an archway of JAQKS branded balloons and spent a couple hours in the classic and colourful chicken shop, meeting staff and enjoying JAQKS signature wings and chips.
Unlike many other fast food chains, JAQKS prides itself on the impeccable freshness of their produce that delivers an unmatched taste.
Deni Sharankova, JAQKS Marketing Manager says, ‘’We have a unique, exciting and edgy style and we wanted to make the store modern and use edgier branding and we really feel like we’ve succeeded.’’
The restaurant is bright, bold with a retro character, and you feel as though you’re stepping into a futuristic American diner.
The mayor commented positively on the chicken shops potential saying, ‘’Millions of people will come to Birmingham and I hope they will enjoy the food being provided by JAQKS Chicken and Chips.’’
The mayor spent his time chatting to JAQKS store manager and spoke fondly of his encounter with Tom Cruise in Birmingham a couple weeks ago, stating that the movie star was very impressed with Birmingham calling it a ‘beautiful city’.
The Mission Impossible star warmed up to Brum’s Lord Mayor, an impersonal elbow bump on meeting turned into a warm handshake on departure.
Speaking candidly, the Lord Mayor said “the global star asked to meet me, it’s not that I asked to meet him. He asked for a meeting with the Lord Mayor. He then asked if it was possible for the Lord Mayor to appear in a scene and I said I was quite happy to feature in the film. He’s a very down to earth guy, there was no arrogance.”
“I invited him back to Birmingham after the Mission Impossible shooting is complete as my guest.”
It remains to be seen if that is a Mission Impossible!
In the meantime visit JAQKS, next to Birmingham’s St Philips Cathedral Grounds (affectionately known as pigeon park) and is open from 10:30am-11pm Monday to Sunday.
