Local businesses donate time and expertise to help KEMP Hospice

Christmas is a time for giving, and this has been demonstrated by two local Worcestershire businesses who have generously donated their time and expertise to help KEMP Hospice launch their first ever digital fundraising campaign.

Graphic design & marketing agency Audacious Creative and local motion graphics company Wakster have worked with the Mason Road-based charity to create a campaign called KEMP Champions.

This year KEMP have supported over 150 families from the area for whom this will be their first Christmas without a loved one. The KEMP Champion campaign is asking people to donate just £5 to help KEMP support even more families in 2020 and beyond.

Based in the heart of the Wyre Forest, KEMP Hospice offers specialist care and support to patients, families and carers who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement.

When asked why he was donating his time and expertise to the project, Wakster owner Philippe Ingels said, “Some years ago, my daughter lost a friend to cancer and KEMP helped her cope with the trauma. She always spoke very highly of the support she received from them so when I was asked if I would like to be part of a fundraising project for KEMP, I didn’t have to think twice about getting involved.

KEMP not only allowed me to say thank you for what they did for my family but also provided me with an opportunity to use my skills and experience as an animator to help others. Such opportunities often have to be given and when they come around it would be remiss of us not to grab hold of them.

I hope that the animations will create a lot of awareness of the fantastic support KEMP gives to those who are struggling with life-limiting illness and bereavement in our community and that people will see this as their opportunity to become a KEMP champion.”

Stu Avis of Audacious Creative said, “As a business, we aim to give away 10% of each working week away to organisations that have a big vision but a small budget. Over the last few months we’ve been really inspired by the work of KEMP Hospice, their vision and compassion and we wanted to do something to help. When the opportunity came to donate some time to helping KEMP launch their first ever Christmas fundraising campaign we jumped at the chance and it’s been our absolute privilege to work alongside the amazing staff and volunteers to help raise much needed awareness of and funds for KEMP Hospice.”

Head of Fundraising for KEMP, Cathy Sloan said, “As a charity, we rely on the generosity of those living in the region and the vital support offered by our team of wonderful volunteers. We’re really grateful for the passion, time, effort and skill that Philippe and Stu have poured into the project. We love the videos and the campaign is helping us communicate the work we do in new and exciting ways. In the end it’s the patients who benefit – and that’s the main thing.”

The videos are being released on Facebook every two days and you can find out more by visiting: www.kempchampions.org.uk. You can become a KEMP Champion and donate £5 by texting KEMP to 70970.
