On Saturday 11 May, 30 local women will be strutting their stuff down the catwalk at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport at Breast Cancer Haven, West Midland’s first annual Blossom Fashion Show. Blossom is a fashion show like no other; the 30 models braving the catwalk have all had an experience of breast cancer and accessed the charity’s free support services.

Blossom Fashion Show aims to not only raise vital funds for the charity, but also to empower the models, proudly celebrating their strength and confidence.

On the day guests will be treated to a welcome drink, shopping experience and a delicious two course lunch before getting the chance to see the latest spring and summer fashion, with clothes provided by John Lewis, Solihull. Guests also have the chance to win some amazing prizes in the raffle, with gifts generously donated by local businesses.

Elysa Cooper, Community and Events Fundraising Officer at Breast Cancer Haven said “We are so grateful to our incredible models for putting themselves forward to take to the stage for our Blossom Fashion Show. I can’t wait to see them strut their stuff in front of their family and friends and celebrate how far they have come. The money raised will help support more local families across the West Midlands and we couldn’t do this without the support of John Lewis and our team of fabulous volunteers.”

Sarah, one of the models explains why she’s stepping out of her comfort zone and braving the catwalk. “When I finished going through breast cancer treatment my body had been poisoned, battered and scarred and my emotions were very raw. Breast Cancer Haven was there for me when I needed support. They welcomed me, listened, and helped me put my life back together. It truly is a fantastic place and has helped so many people, so to give something back I’m taking to the catwalk so ladies like me can get the support they need. I’m nervous but I’m also really looking forward to it.”

The money raised will enable the centre, based in Olton, Solihull, to continue offering free support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
