A popular West Midlands travel firm has seen a 50 per cent expansion of its workforce this year as well as making a number of internal promotions to senior positions.

LandFlight, which is based in Solihull, has increased its workforce from 56 people at the beginning of January, to 84.

As well as this, it has also been actively promoting existing staff members into senior positions.

The company, which took over the operation of several bus routes in Solihull in February, has promoted Leigh Russell, formerly one of its coach drivers, to head of bus operations.

Leigh said: “I started at the company in January 2016 as a bus driver and later I took on responsibilities in the office, as well as working as a coach driver.

“This is a great time to be part of a company like LandFlight, with its growing workforce and reputation for quality service.

“I love working here and because I showed a passion for what we do, the company promoted me, which was fantastic.”

Also acknowledged by the company for their hard work and dedication are Matthew Neale and Alex Manuel, who have been promoted from bus drivers to bus inspectors.

LandFlight director Danny Matthews said: “It is an exciting time at LandFlight. We’ve taken over several bus routes in the Solihull area and expanded our workforce by 50 per cent to cope with the increased demand for our services.

“We’ve been delighted to make several senior internal promotions to employees such as Leigh, Alex and Matthew, who have shown passion and drive, not to mention excellent people and organisational skills.”
