“A significant achievement in the West Midlands”.
Award-winning developer William Davis Homes has taken a major step forward as part of its ambitious growth plans in the West Midlands.
The purchase of a site in Burton Green, Warwickshire, is William Davis Homes’ first land acquisition on the open market for the West Midlands region.
Following a competitive tender process, the company has bought a four-and-a-half acre site at Westwood Heath. The development will consist of 70 homes comprising of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties. The site is part of the wider Westwood Park development which will bring a total of 425 new homes to the area.
The Group Land Director at William Davis Homes, Sarah Whetton, said the purchase of the site formed a vital part of the company’s ambitious plans for the future in the West Midlands:
“This is a fantastic opportunity which complements our land acquisition at Gallows Hill in Warwick and reinforces the growth of our West Midlands region,” said Sarah.
“In addition to Gallows Hill and Westwood Heath, we currently have a pipeline of four planning applications in the region (at Fernhill Heath, Pershore, Droitwich and Walsall) with a combined capacity of approximately 590 plots.”
“We also own or control a further 16 strategic land parcels in the West Midlands, with an estimated capacity of 2,400 plots. This underwrites our five-year plan for the region.”
Welcoming the latest land acquisition, William Davis’ Operations Director David Dodge commented: “Alongside the start of works later this year at Gallows Hill, Warwick, the company expects to break ground at Westwood Heath before the end of this financial year.”
“This will be a significant achievement and in line with our strategy to grow organically in both the East and West Midlands.”
The Westwood Heath site has excellent transport links. Trains from the nearby Tile Hill Railway Station can reach Birmingham in just 22 minutes and London Euston in just over an hour. Birmingham International Airport is 11 minutes away by train.
William Davis Homes Senior Land Manager Andrew Morgan said: “This is a great serviced parcel of land in an established high quality neighbourhood. It’s acquisition complements our continued search for both short-term and strategic land opportunities in the prime locations of the West Midlands.”
Currently, William Davis Homes has 12 live developments across the East and West Midlands.
