Santa Claus is definitely coming to town for KEMP Hospice this year! With three months to go until Christmas, the Wyre Forest charity is delighted to announce that their festive fundraiser, their Santa Fun Run will be back on Sunday 5th December in Brinton Park, Kidderminster.
Their annual winter event, which for many local people marks the start of the Christmas countdown, has attracted hundreds of runners for over a decade, and KEMP are encouraging their Wyre Forest community to sign up to have some fun whilst supporting local hospice care. Supporters can opt to take part in a timed 10k, a 5k race, and for families, a Kids 1k Santa Dash around the park.
The KEMP Hospice Santa Fun Run, sponsored by Blisstech Solutions and Eureka Financial Solutions, will see runners come together once again in person, and for those who can’t make it, supporters can join in virtually and take part in their own time throughout December, choose their own fitness activity – from running, walking, cycling or skipping – and get involved in a location they choose. Everyone who signs up virtually will still get a much-coveted Santa suit too, and all fundraisers who smash a £75 target will receive a special limited-edition KEMP running t-shirt!
Fundraiser and event organiser at KEMP Hospice Coralie Hudson said: “We cannot wait to see everyone back at Brinton Park this December. We were thrilled that so many supported the event virtually last year, but we know that our community has missed the buzz of hundreds of Santa setting off from Brinton Park! The pandemic hit our fundraising hard, so taking part in our Santa Fun Run is a great fun way to help raise much needed funds for our local hospice care. This will ensure that we can continue to provide that vital care and support to local people who desperately need our help.”
Ticket sales are now open, and supporters can enjoy 20% early bird prices until Sunday 31st October with special promo code: EarlyBird. Regular prices are £20 for the timed 10k run, £15 for an adult and £10 for under 16s for the family 5k, and £5 for the Kids 1k Santa Dash.
Everyone who signs-up will receive a free Santa suit to wear which will be available to collect from the hospice (dates to be confirmed) or opt to have them posted.
