JTF Home & Garden offers helping hand to the charities of Stoke

Stoke-on-Trent’s JTF Home & Garden is offering a helping hand to local charities through donations of products and time to the area.

Founded in 1979, JTF are offering goods, discount cards, and volunteers to charities throughout Stoke-on-Trent. The charities working in partnership with JTF, set to receive help from the national value retailer, cover various causes and needs including: Scouts, food-banks, community hubs, and more.

JTF are dedicated to supporting the residents of Stoke-on-Trent, directly through its retail operations and via programmes such as the charity partnerships to offer support to those in need. Donations to the charity groups are made on a case-by-case basis to meet the needs of each individual project. Help has been offered in the form of volunteering hours from JTF team members, discount cards for use of project purchases, and the donation of goods and products for those in need.

This includes Approach Staffordshire, providing specialist support and advice to older people with dementia and related health issues since 1981. JTF is donating a collection of garden equipment including: hand tools, gardening gloves, and planting bulbs to help three gardening groups currently supported by the charity.

Also taking a donation of goods are the 67th Burslem Scouts, open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18. Since 1974 the Burslem Scout Group has offered a safe place for children to gather for fun and to develop in line with the scout code. JTF’s donation of products will be used to set up a youth club within the group.

Dionne Hicks, store manager of JTF’s Stoke branch, says: “JTF are dedicated to offering a helping hand to those around us. After decades within the city of Stoke we have witnessed first-hand the direct needs and desires of the residents and are acting to offer a little bit extra. As the heart of the community, JTF are donating products and time into local charity groups in the hope it makes their lives and the lives of those they support just a little better.”

Since the opening of their initial store, JTF has expanded across the North and Midlands to now operate 12 value retail stores in addition to a thriving online store for customers across the country. Focussed on the philosophy of ‘buying big and saving big’, JTF customers save £1.1m per week primarily due to the chain’s stock strategies passing all savings on to the consumer based on their motto of Need it. Find it. Love it.

Work is on-going to support each charity and more partnerships are expected to be announced in the near future. JTF will continue offering their huge range of discounts to all customers that come through the doors whilst serving as the heart of the community through their support for local interest groups and charities.
