Joules announces bumper ‘Charity Month’ following 2018’s £40,000 fundraising success

Joules, the British lifestyle brand, has announced the launch of its debut Charity Month, taking place throughout this month.

The launch of Charity Month – which this year is themed ‘Give It Some Welly’ – follows the resounding success of the company’s 2018 Charity Week, during which it raised an impressive £40,000 for its Charitably Joules partners.

This month, Joules staff across the country, including at its head office in Market Harborough, distribution centre in Corby and each of its 125 stores, will participate in a wide range of local and national fundraising activities to raise money for the brand’s family of charity partners including; The Prince’s Trust, Hospice UK, Farms for City Children, Nuzzlets and the newest addition, the Woodland Trust.

A number of these initiatives will take place in Joules’ hometown of Market Harborough, including:

  • 25 & 26 October will see the first ever Charitably Joules pop-up shop, located at Joules Yard, Market Harborough! Customers will be able to support ‘reduce and reuse’ by buying a wide range of pre-loved clothing, footwear and accessories that are looking for a new home including a few Joules items that have been donated by employees.
  • 17 October a team of Joules employees will be tackling a grueling 1,989km virtual cycle – to celebrate the year Joules was founded. They’ll be under the Old Grammar School in the center of Market Harborough all day and donations will be greatly welcomed by participants to keep their legs turning!

These local initiatives sit alongside other national efforts, including a nationwide ‘Welly Exchange’ which offers customers the chance to recycle their old Joules wellies at any Joules store, and be rewarded with 30% off a new pair throughout the month. The old wellies will be repurposed into equestrian arena surfacing by Joules’ innovative recycling partner, Safer Surfacing.

Joules stores across the country will also be getting involved with their own fundraising activities, and any customers keen to support Joules’ efforts will have the opportunity to donate £1 with each purchase in-store, all of which is split equally between the Charitably Joules partners.

Andrea Gray, Chief Sales Officer at Joules commented “Following our really successful 2018 Charity Week, which saw us raise a fantastic £40,000, we wanted to challenge ourselves this year to raise even more money for our charity partners, all of which do such valued and incredible work across the country.

We’re looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to our pop-up shop and existing Market Harborough store throughout the month and can’t wait to get started!”
