J S Wright to fit out boutique development in Bristol

A CGI of what the new Tempus development in Bristol will look like

Birmingham-based J S Wright has secured the mechanical and electrical services contract for a new boutique development in Bristol.

The M&E specialist is to design and build the heating, ventilation, lighting and security services for 14 luxury apartments and two penthouses within the four-storey Tempus scheme at Whiteladies Road in Clifton.

J S Wright, which has an office in Bristol as well as offices in Aston and London, has already started work on site supporting Bridgwater construction company Pollard on the Galliard Homes development.

The scheme, the ground floor of which will comprise space for a Marks & Spencer store, is located amongst Clifton’s historic Georgian terraces in the city which was named as the UK’s most desirable location in the 2017 Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide.

The five-month contract, worth more than £450,000 and scheduled for completion in June 2018, includes supplying and installing a cost-effective and energy efficient wall-mounted gas-fired combination boiler along with gas services within each apartment to provide water heating and central heating through sectional radiators.

J S Wright will also supply and fit a packaged water storage and booster set to provide cold water to each apartment, sanitary ware, and a mechanical extract ventilation system for all kitchens and bathrooms.

In addition, the company will install low voltage power distribution throughout the development, along with energy efficient LED lighting – controlled in landlord areas by presence detectors – and energy efficient dimmer switches in all bedrooms.

The brief also includes installing TV distribution, video entry control and fire alarm systems, as well as small power services for applications including light and shaver sockets in bedroom vanity units.

Marcus Aniol, J S Wright Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be able to provide the skills and expertise from our Bristol and head offices to help make the city an even more desirable place in which to live.”

Founded in Birmingham in 1890, J S Wright designs and builds mechanical and electrical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.

The company was voted one of the UK’s Top Ten Specialist Contractors to Work For in the 2016 Construction Enquirer Awards and is shortlisted for this year’s H&V News Building Services Contractor of the Year Award.
