One of the UK’s leading managed service providers is strengthening its commitment to the Black Country after becoming the official technology partner for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s rapidly growing Business Club.
Intercity, headquartered in Birmingham city centre, will work with the Chamber to share practical knowledge and insight that helps members navigate the unprecedented pace of technological change.
Its specialists will also provide support and guidance to organisations looking to enhance cyber security, modernise their operations, embrace digital transformation and unlock the potential of AI.
“The Black Country is an incredibly important region for us,” commented Charlie Blakemore, CEO of Intercity.
“Not only is it geographically close to our headquarters, but it’s also home to many of the organisations and sectors we work closely with every day, including housing, construction, charities, education, manufacturing and professional services.
“For instance, we are already supporting household local names, such as housing association whg, YMCA Black Country Group and EH Smith.”
He continued: “This partnership with the Chamber is a natural next step in deepening our commitment to the Black Country and ensuring local organisations have access to the expertise and support they need to thrive.
“Managing and understanding technology is a critical enabler for organisations of every size. That’s why we’ve chosen to become the technology partner for the Chamber’s Business Club, giving members access to trusted expertise to help them tackle both today’s technology challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.”
Intercity, which has created 50 new jobs across the Midlands over the last eighteen months, provides managed IT services, communications and connectivity, cloud, cyber security and AI transformation support to organisations in the region.
The relationship with the Black Country Chamber has also been fundamental in one of its more recent wins, with the firm becoming the official technology partner of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, supporting initiatives focused on improving resilience, operational efficiency and visitor experience.
Sean Jackson, Head of Membership at Black Country Chamber of Commerce, added: “Intercity believes that relationships, not just contracts, are what make partnerships and business networks really work, and this is reflected in its increased involvement with the Chamber.
“Since becoming a Gold Member in August 2024, it has embraced being an active part of our community, so extending this partnership to become the official technology partner for our Business Club made perfect sense.
“It gives the company the perfect opportunity to help shape conversations, bring people together and contribute its outstanding technology expertise on topics that really matter to local organisations. We both want the partnership to be built on genuine value.”
The Chamber’s Black Country Business Club is a focused, high-value space designed to help leaders connect, collaborate, and grow their businesses.
Built on the simple principle ‘people do business with people’, it offers an enhanced networking experience to ensure every session creates genuine connections, insights and real commercial outcomes.
Members also have access to the BC WhatsApp Community – a new way to connect and generate dynamic referrals through the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
Charlie concluded: “Both Intercity and the Chamber are committed to working together to help drive economic growth and ensuring we continue to invest in the communities that make the Black Country such a great place to live and work.”
