
Black Country Growth Hub in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority is proud to announce that HVM City – Opportunity Gateway, an investment and business growth platform that connects West Midlands firms to major procurement projects has been shortlisted to represent the region as a finalist at the most celebrated and sought-after national awards in construction.
HVM City is an innovative, cross-regional digital procurement tool that showcases the skills, knowledge and expertise of West Midlands companies in the UK and abroad. The collaborative entry focused on the Growth Hub’s efforts to boost the skills, competitiveness and BIM maturity of the region’s supply chain via its BIMwm framework and BIDsmarter digital technology drive.
The construction excellence awards is a well-recognised badge amongst the sectors peers, attracting entries from some of the biggest clients in UK construction, HVM City will represent the West Midlands in the top award of the night, having been recognised for its outstanding and pioneering work with it’s incumbent supply chain in the ‘National Client of the Year’ award.
Commenting on the final short listing, Andy Cox, Black Country LEP Board Member and chair of the Growth Hub said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for a national award. Our innovative work on HVM City demonstrates the dynamic and pioneering approach in engaging with businesses in our region, providing them with the opportunities to build knowledge, become digitally equipped to win contracts and be leading players both here in the UK and abroad.”
The winners will be announced at a prestigious gala dinner at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Friday 16 November in London. This event is expected to be the biggest Construction Excellence Awards ceremony to date, with 1300 industry leaders and senior construction professionals attending to celebrate their achievements and rub shoulders with the industry’s elite.
The national Construction Excellence Awards are said to represent the best initiatives, individuals and organisations across the UK.
