It seems like there are people who are confident and people who aren’t. People who are sure of themselves are the ones who get what they want in life because they know how to ask for it or have faith in themselves to go get it.
But it can be hard for people who don’t have much confidence or none at all. The most important thing to remember is that anyone can feel confident if they know how to start. Confidence is something that grows over time. Here are some tips to help you start your new life with more confidence.

Stand Tall
Whenever you’re out and about, take some time to look around you. With their shoulders squared and their heads held high, you’ll be able to tell individuals who are confident. People who are less confident will be bent over and looking down at the ground as they walk, attempting to take up as little space as possible. Each group of people will be treated differently, even if it is unintentional.
Increasing your self-assurance may be as simple as raising your head and staring people directly in the eyes when you speak. If you keep doing this, it will become second nature to you, and you’ll gain more confidence as a result. Plus, people will treat you differently – in a positive way.
Get Healthy
If we aren’t happy with our bodies, we might be less likely to do the things we want to do. If that’s the case, working out regularly can help you feel better about yourself. You’ll feel better and act more positively, which will make other people think you’re a confident person. Often, how you feel about yourself depends on how other people treat you.
Not only will exercise help you get healthy, but so will eating a well-balanced diet, drinking less alcohol, and not smoking. These can be hard, but you can always do something to help yourself. You could ask your family to help you make healthy meal choices, or you could only drink on the weekends, for example. Smoking might be a harder habit to quit, so it can be worthwhile speaking to an expert about it.
Do Something You’re Good At
Putting yourself in a situation where you might fail can really hurt your confidence. This could be anything from speaking in public to giving a presentation to taking a driving test. Failure at anything makes us feel bad and lowers our confidence, so doing something you are good at and showing yourself that you have skills and talent is a great way to build that confidence back up or boost it before trying something new.
This might be as simple as taking a class in something you already know about or as complex as creating a brand new CV and an impressive Buffalo 7 presentation in order to get a new job doing something that utilises your skills.
No one is good at everything, but everyone is good at something. If you know what you’re good at, you can try anything you’re asked to do, knowing you can do well in at least one area (and more than likely more than one).
