How to add peach tones into your home

The colour of the year is peach, and now seems the right time to give our homes a refresh with such a warm and tropical colour as we approach spring.

Peach, a stunning combination of pink and orange, can offer your home a revitalised freshness. Evoking feelings of relaxation, positivity, and joy, this colour has the ability to transform your home.

Pantone forecasted that the colour of the year for 2024 would be peach fuzz, a colour that can enrich the mind, body and soul.

Although it doesn’t hold the reputation of being a widely loved colour, the combination of peach with certain tones can really pop in your home. Working with muted colours, like whites and neutrals, or alternatively working with brighter, colder hues like bright blues, it has the ability to visually elevate your interior.

Kate Conrad, senior interior designer at luxury homeware retailer Madison & Mayfair, shares her top tips for adding peach into your decor.

Peach accessories for a pop of warmth

“Add a splash of colour into your home through peach-coloured accessories”, says Kate. “Brighten up your sofa with some peach-coloured cushions, whether you opt for block colours or a peach-infused design. Drape a throw over your sofa too, for the full effect”.

Kate also suggests the use of peach lampshades: “They are a great way to incorporate more warmth into your home, allowing the light to shine through the orange-toned shade.

“Perfect for creating an ambience, you will love how subtle additions of peach will improve your home’s interior”.

Be bold and paint your walls

“To really breathe new life into your home, paint your walls to totally alter the style of your decor”, says Kate.

“Whether you opt for a subtle shade of peach or fancy one more vibrant, you can create an instantly more inviting space.

“Perhaps an accent wall would add a more eye-catching feature into your home, paired with bright furniture in contrasting tones to create a colourful oasis of positivity and joy”.

Peachy artwork for a subtle touch

“If you don’t want to commit to larger redecorating projects such as painting your walls, then hanging up some new artwork is still a respectable way to change up your decor.

“Some paintings and prints with peachy tones can add subtle pops of warmth, whether you prefer more traditional styles or more contemporary designs”, says Kate.

A statement piece and a conversation starter

“In order to add some peach into your home, you don’t have to incorporate it everywhere. Instead, appeal to the trend with just one statement piece and watch as the compliments come oozing in”, Kate says.

“As a confident way to channel some peachy tones into your home, you can create the illusion of having a bolder, fiercer decor style, without having to break the bank.

“A vibrant peach armchair would do just the trick”, adds Kate. “It would be the perfect spot for reading, coffee drinking and relaxing, whilst being enveloped in a peachy embrace”.

Be creative and enhance your kitchenware

“To take the peach theme to another level, adding it into your everyday kitchenware would be the cherry on top”, says Kate.

“Perhaps some cups and mugs in peachy designs, or some alternative crockery that embraces pink and orange hues would transform your dining experience, adding a touch of brightness that will not go unnoticed”.
